As I write this post I am in a restaurant sipping some tasty mango juice. There’s one exit to my left and the rest are four walls.Without these walls i definitely would be able to see what’s going on outside the restaurant. For now all i can see are the people within this restaurant,my visibility of the outside environment is limited and I can’t tell how the street looks like!
A lot of times how we think about ourselves and our imagination of who we are is limited by “four walls” as well. These are things which we have been conditioned to and have naturally become a norm as a result of a long exposure to them.If we could literally take the offices as an example, many people have woken up to the same 4 walls every morning for years, the same people, same furniture ,same routines and so forth.
With time our minds have become so accustomed to the happenings until we forget who we are. They know you as the coffee girl, the IT lady, the operations manager, the tall guy,the brown lady etc.Sometimes we have allowed these names to define us until we forget who we are.You are the “coffee lady” but inside yourself something tells you you should be running a beauty salon or a restaurant. You are the “operations manager” but your inner self says you should be changing lives somewhere. You are the “brown lady” but your inner self says you should be baking something tasty to be consumed by humanity. The list can go on and on.
There is always a voice within us which somehow knows who we are.No matter how hard we try to convince it otherwise, it will always be there. This voice defines us;it knows beyond doubt you can be that baker;you can stand up and help change lives, you can pursue your highest ambitions and inspire others to do the same.Take a moment, listen to it,and try to be what you hear within You.
It’s time to break the four walls, the world is waiting to have your mark on it!
